2016 Old Speckled Hen Run
The date for this year’s OSH Tour was Sunday 29th May and 2016 marks the twenty-fourth such outing. The tour was to start at the elegant Radley College and, with fair weather forecast, there were a great number of MGs from pre-war to the current range
Abingdon to Abingdon 85th Anniversary Run
It was no coincidence that 85 cars lined up at the Westwood Hotel on Hinksey Hill near Abingdon on the 4th of October as this was to be the AWC’s special way of celebrating the MG Car Club’s 85th anniversary.
2014 Old Speckled Hen Run - Sunday 25th May
Only a week to zero hour and everything was under control; the route had been plotted, surveyed, double checked and then triple checked, the route books had been prepared and printed, the MSA permit was on file, the start and finish and lunch venues booked, fine weather ordered. What could possibly go wrong?
2014 St. George’s Day Run - Sunday 27th April
The organisers of this year’s St. George’s Day Run pulled off yet another successful event as part of the AWC’s contribution to the Federation of British Historical Vehicle Club’s national ‘Drive It Day’ on Sunday 27th April.

Abingdon Works Centre Awards Dinner - Saturday 2nd March 2013
In early March, a few weeks earlier than has become the norm in recent years, members of the AWC donned their finest and gathered at the Steventon House Hotel for the 2013 Annual Awards Dinner.
Chairman’s Event - Sunday 30th September 2012
This year’s Events Calendar finale had two Road Runs both converging on STEAM, the Museum of the Great Western Railway in Swindon, which is well known for its plethora of roundabouts! Once there, there was a choice between the Museum and the Outlet Centre.
Abingdon Works Car Show - Sunday 6th May 2012
The Annual Works Centre Car Show saw its 7th running this year in conjunction with the 13th Abingdon Air and Country Show. The date was the 6th of May and over the years we have seen sunny weather, rainy weather and cold and windy weather.
St George’s Day Run - Sunday 22nd April 2012
After days of wind and rain before Sunday, April 22nd which was to be the AWC’s first run of 2012. The day dawned a bit cloudy but with outbursts of sunshine instead of rain. The St Georges Day Run is the Centre’s Drive It Day encouraged by the FBHVC.
Abingdon Works Centre Awards Dinner - Saturday 24th March 2012
Steventon House Hotel, the former home of MG racer George Eyston, was once again the venue of the Centre’s Awards Dinner with almost 60 people. It was international gathering with some members travelling very long distances to attend.
Old Speckled Hen Run - Sunday 29th May
It was again a full house for the 2011 Speckled Hen the annual MG Tour which brings together Abingdon’s two most famous products. With four countries represented amongst the 100 cars entered, the 19th Tour could certainly rank as being one of the most international to date.
Abingdon Works Car Show - Sunday 8th May 2011
This year saw the 6th running of the AWC Car Show in conjunction with the Abingdon Air and Country Show at the Abingdon airfield. As in previous years we were supporting the Berks Oxon and Bucks Air Ambulance Charity who this year treated us all to a short display and flypast prior to the main display.
St. George’s Day Run - Sunday 17th April 2011
We met in the Miele factory car park in the retail park in west Abingdon at 10am on Sunday April 17th. First, we were incredibly lucky with the weather, the sun shone all day and the temperature remained high, great with the hood down!

It is rumoured Isadora Duncan once lived there when it was owned by sewing machine magnate Sir Mortimer Singer and it was the former home of MG racer George Eyston, but on the last Saturday in March, Steventon House Hotel was once again the venue for the AWC 2011 Awards Dinner.
Abingdon Works Centre’s clock for the John Thornley Suite - Tuesday 9th November2010
A decision was made that we should commission a unique timepiece for the club and early November saw a stunning contemporary multi chronometer presented to Kimber House to be displayed in the John Thornley Suite for all to see.
The Chairman’s Run - Sunday 3rd October 2010
Sunday the third of October 2010 was a day definitely erring on the side of Tin-Tops. The fastest moving objects that you could see from the Miele Car Park were not the Black Stuttgart and Munich made cars on the A34 but the Gunmetal Grey Clouds attempting a new airspeed record over Abingdon.
Summer Day Out - Sunday 25th July 2010
Cars ranging from Peter Down’s 1935 PA to Bob Foster’s 2009 TF LE500 and most of the models in between congregated for the traditional summer picnic and get together at Hinton Ampner House and Gardens near Alresford in Hampshire.
Old Speckled Hen Tour - Sunday 30th May 2010
77 years of MG machinery gathered at Radley College for the 18th Old Speckled Hen Tour in the annual celebration of Abingdon’s two world-famous brands. Spanning the years 1932 to 2009, it was again a full house of 100 cars.

The last Saturday in March saw the former home of record-breaker George Eyston, Steventon House Hotel, again welcoming those attending the annual AWC Awards Dinner. This Victorian country house became a hotel in 1981 and in 2007 a part of the Divine Hotels group.
Boxing Day Run - 26th December 2009
Boxing Day morning saw the usual good attendance of cars assemble in Abingdon’s Market Square for the Boxing Day Run. After a delightful 50+ mile run we ended up at The Dog House in Frilford for lunch.
